Softest Easiest Sugar Cookies

My mom & I got to spend the day together last week and make yummy Valentine Sugar cookies for our friends and family. My mom just moved out here from Vegas so it’s so fun to have her up here to hang out with! I love being in the kitchen and love it even better when someone is there to join me! Mason also loves to be in the kitchen and help with whatever he can. I alway want him to feel included and like a help even though it often makes the clean up process a lot longer (and harder) it’s worth every minute! That little boy can pretty much talk me into anything, I’m a sucker for that babyface & fluffy cheeks!
I am also a sucker for good ole’ sugar cookies! Blue Lemon has my absolute favorite and if anyone has the recipe I will pay for it! I know they get they from a bakery so maybe if anyone knows the bakery that’s even better! I use this recipe from a old cook book and it never lets me down. I have listed it below and it’s so easy! I have posted a couple pictures of the cookies and the process. Last but not least frosting. I used all American Duncan Hines Frosting. Yes, I cheated but I didn’t feel like making any and let me tell you guys they taste just as delicious!
Happy Tuesday! XOXO

Ingredients:

1 1/2 c. Shortening
2 c. Sugar
3 Eggs
1 c. Sour Cream
2 tsp. Vanilla
6 c. Flour
2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:

Mix the wet ingredients first in a separate bowl. Combine the dry ingredients slowly. It should form a stick dough. I divide the dough in 2 and place it in the refrigerator but you can roll them out to 1/4 inch thick and cut right away if you need. You can also freeze half the dough if you want (it makes a good amount). Bake at 350 Degrees 7-9 minutes. Let cool & frost.
