Easy Cake Pop Recipe

I love to cook & bake especially when there is a fun holiday! Valentine’s is one of the best because there are so many sweet treats to make! I was excited to try my luck at Cake Pop. They are some of my favorite so it’s time I figure out how to make them. This is such an easy recipe and fun! My sister and I worked on them and had the best time! I teamed up with Minted this year for our Valentine gifts and can’t wait to bring you the full post on that next week. For now just sneak peek of the tags. I hope you guys are having a great weekend!
I have listed the ingredients & directions. I also took as many pictures as I could to help give you a look at what I did. I know for me it’s so much easier to follow a recipe when I have pictures to go along with it! XOXO

Directions

1.) Prepare & make your cake mixes according to the directions on the box
2.) Let your cake cool for about 1 hour (you can make them a day before to make it easier)

3.) Scoop out chunks of the cake into a large bowl  (remove crispy edges, they will poke out of the ball & leave some extra cake in case you need it later)

4.) Add a scoop of icing, just eyeball it. You can add more if needed or add more cake if you need. It should be moist enough to form a ball but not fall apart.

5.) Use a standard size cookie scooper to form balls and finish them in your palms

6.) Melt chocolate candies in the microwave 30 secs at a time while stiring in between.

7.) Dip the sticks about an inch into the melted chocolate and place them in a cake ball

8.) Place in the freezer for 1 hour

9.) Remove from freezer and dip in melted chocolates. You can make different color chocolate using food coloring. Decorate immediately before they dry.

10.) Stick them onto a box to dry. I used a regular cardboard box & poked holes at the top.

11.) When finished let them dry & set for about 2 hours (don’t put them in the fridge, they will crack)

12.) Wrap, package, and enjoy!
