I don’t know about all of you, but my days are about 100% better when I am able to get my workout in! I have more energy throughout the whole day and I am always in a better mood when I am able to get a little sweat in in the morning! Over the years I’ve come up with a few ways that help me balance the kids in the morning and also getting my workout in for the day. I’ve found the cutest workout clothes for myself and the kids at Nordstrom throughout the years. Mason has been living in basketball shorts lately!
1. Pick out an outfit– I set my workout clothes aside the night before, right next to my bed so when I get up in the morning, I immediately change into my outfit. I will set aside, leggings, a sports bra, shirt, jacket, and shoes.
2. Plan your workout- I have a plan of what my workout is going to look like that day. Whether I am going to focus on arms, legs or abs! I always get on the treadmill for at least 10 minutes a day! I have been getting into the Kayla Itsines BBG routine and I have been loving it! It’s great to have a schedule and know what kind of workouts I am going to be doing so that I can prepare! What if your plan goes south?! Well, the kids love going on walks and play at the park. So, if it is a nice day outside, I will take my workouts to the park! Also, how adorable are these little Nikes for Mason and matching Nikes for Monroe! Mason wanted a pair to match his dad and of course, we couldn’t leave Monroe out!
3. Get up early– I try to get up before the babies in the morning tog et my workout in, but if I am up a little later or they wake up earlier, I will make them a few snacks and bring them downstairs with me! They love to cuddle in the morning and sometimes they even join in on my workouts! It’s the cutest thing to see Mason doing his ab exercises and Moroe flailing her arms to mimic me with my weights!
4. Playlists are important– Music is such a great way to get yourself up in the morning and stay motivated throughout your whole workout! I’ve put together some great playlists that help me keep going throughout the hardest parts of my workout!
Working out with kids is all about putting together a routine and finding a balance that works for yourself and your kids! It’s taken me a while to finally get a system down. I know that being able to get a workout in in the morning totally helps me clear my mind for the day, so I try my best to make sure it happens every day! And if it doesn’t, you can’t beat yourself up about it! We’re all doing the best we can. Just make sure you have a little more motivation for the next day!
