I’m so excited to share with you guys Monroe’s Nursery! Decorating our home is something I love to do. It’s not the decorations & “things” I love it’s making our house feel more like a home and cozy that I appreciate! My husband often chuckles at my ideas before he sees them finished. I always tell him just to trust me & then he ends up loving it! With Monroe’s nursery I wanted to start off with a color pallet and go from there. I knew I wanted more of a rose/blush pink, white/ivory, and touches of gold. I also knew I wanted to use our nursery furniture we had for Mason. When we got our nursery furniture for Mason we looked for something that was gender neutral and that we could use for all the kids.
People often ask me how I go about finding things, where I find everything, and how I decide to put everything together. My answer is I don’t really have a rhyme or reason. Like I said above I pick a color pallet and run with it. Often times I will buy a ton of stuff see what works in the room and then return whatever I didn’t use. I find this so much easier than getting things one by one or regretting not buying something when I get home – does that even make sense ha?
I have a couple favorite things about the room that I will point out to you. 1. ) I LOVE the wall art from Minted! I love everything Minted has to offer and use all of their services. But my favorite thing of theirs is by far their wall art! They have they most amazing, unusual, and affordable pieces that you can’t find anywhere else. I also love the frames they have to offer! If you guys saw the post on Mason’s Room (here) the wall art is from Minted as well! They have a vast variety! What I love so much about these 2 pieces for Monroe’s room is that they are soft, colorful, and timeless! I feel like she will be able to use these for as long as she wants! Next thing I love about her room is her bedding. Although, she is still too small for us to actually put it in her bed I drape this beautiful bedding from Restoration Hardware over her crib. All our furniture is from Restoration Hardware (minus the glider) We are huge fans of RH and I also love all their bedding. Mason’s bedding when he was younger is from their too so you could say we are a little sentimental (ok, I am really sentimental – my husband is always making fun of me). I love the pale blush color and the large roses embroider on it. It reminds me of the bedding from Anthropoligie only baby form! 3.) Last but not least our glider. This is the same glider we had for Mason’s nursery and it is so special to me. We got it from Pottery Barn Kids. I love and cherish this glider because it where I spend the most time with my babies when they are young. It is where I nurse them, rock them to sleep, sing to them, stare at them, and just simply cuddle! A lot times when I’m feeling overwhelmed or stressed I will rock in this exact glider with one of the kids and wind down. There is a calming sense about this exact spot that is so special. If any of you mommas out there are doing your nursery spend money on your rocker/glider. It is a special spot and one you will spend a lot of time in. You want to be comfortable.
I will list as much as I can think of below of where everything is from but please let me know if you have any questions! Enjoy! XOXO
